The X-Files 2: does anyone still care?

Mark Pickavance

It's too recent to be considered a returning 'classic', and too long for me to remember some of the plot intricacies that kept me watching all those years ago

The second X-Files movie has just gone into production! One simple question: why?

Published on Nov 2, 2007

Between 1993 and 2002, there wasn't much decent on TV, I've concluded, so we watched the X-Files. In retrospect it was possibly the most inconsistent show ever made, as it lurched uncontrollably between utter brilliance and gross stupidity, sometimes in the same scene.

It made huge stars of its lead actors, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, unknowns before they appeared in this. They capped X-Files prematurely by continuing their Fox Mulder and Dana Scully personas in the 1998 motion picture, four years before the show finally ran out of steam in its 9th season.

I don't think I'm being too unkind to say that the movie wasn't great, although it contained all the types of mysterious and strange goings on that the TV show did. As I recall it didn't really take the characters anywhere they'd not been previously, with a smaller budget.

Variety has reported today that the second X-Files movie has just started production, with Scully and Mulder scheduled to return to the big screen on July 25th next year.

So how do I feel about this? Err…well it's not excited…in fact it concerns me why anyone thought this was a good idea. It's too recent to be considered a returning 'classic', and too long for me to remember some of the plot intricacies that kept me watching all those years ago. While Miss Anderson hasn't been treated too badly by the years, David Duchovny's boyish looks has given way to the appearance of a man who went though all the experiences of his Mulder character for real, possibly twice. Although this does, to be fair, give a degree of credibility to his character in new TV outing, Californication, as a sex addicted writer.

In short, does anyone give a flying stuff about the X-Files any longer, or like me, has the audience moved on?

I guess we find out in late July next year.

I don't think that's fair to David Duchovny - he looks alright to me. And I have to say, I will watch an X-Files movie at a cinema, because I'm just that lame.

nope - nobody cares, not one bit. I was talking to some of the students at work about 'cult' tv and some of them even said, ' X-What?'.

I don't think that's fair either. I doubt he's had as much Botox as we're used to seeing from a 40something male celebrity with a tanning problem.

The X-Files 2: does anyone still care - The Insider Scoop Dec, 2007 Duchovny is compensated with his own sitcom from old dying Hollywood, while on the side, pushes hard to engage the public’s support in having GA help corp Hollywood with another film series project. ... "It’s-a kind-of-a big ruse” Duchovny confirms, in his LA. Aug 27, 07 radio-station phone interview while promo-ing his new deals with old Hollywood. Is he trying to tell us all (or Gill) something between the lines? He stated that he was “standing by the dumpster.” It’s all very confusing because ... ... Anderson knew that she would have to make a statement to old Hollywood’s 2007 most recent public threat towards her, in making this x files 2—attempting to manipulate her involvement. (see old Hollywood’s ‘scare & slander, and blacklist’ tactics after her 2002 resignation.) Anderson shows wisdom in how she has been approaching and addressing this issue, AGAIN. Now known as universal common knowledge ...the US mainstream Hollywood, iron curtain, media | gossip, monopoly is more than a confusing source. Most are aware which sources Nazi Hollywood has most control over or owns. In leu of this GA's statements, published over the last whenever and wherever by sources of less Hollywood influence, seem to be in two parts, to paraphrase, 1. first, Anderson ensures the public that she does care for them. 2. then, she follows up, in cyberspace, towards old Hollywood with calm demeanor ...just come down her and try to hit me or my children again, and see what happens. (see, her highlighting of her documented, torturous 2002 untold story) Response to the latter will no doubt bring the same ole, stupid doctored sex photos posted, and of course old Hollywood’s famous ‘scare & slander and blacklist’ tactics, when negotiating|threatening ...should any in the industry, or other, not serve them, or corp Hollywood's interest, wallet, crime of passion ego. In regard to GA's near criminal abuse during the TV series X-Files mentioned above; What would you do if all abandoned you as old Nazi Hollywood stole your precious, first motherhood—via legal contract ...then, attempted to destroy your rep, and ability to work again in your field, ever, because you protested? What would you do if this same perpetrator publicly, freely raped you and your small, infant children’s lives while co-workers passively looked on and said bully never, relentlessly, ever stopped. ....then, had this same media-bully publicly announce, without your consent, 5 years into it's professional and personal industry stalking, and reputation bashing gig that you are to work for them ...“soon” ... "it’s getting closer” ..."it’s firming up" ..."Duchovny says" ..."it’s confirmed" ..."the script has been sent" ..."it’s been signed" ..."it’s going to happen" ... "2008" ..."September" ... "November" ...December" ...blah ...blah ...blah!? Anderson - And All Artist Are Free: ...you can bet that she will choose a project that is best suited for herself and family, not corp Hollywood. Duchovny, Carter, Spotnitz and old Hollywood—mother & child bullies, and cowards, who most certainly deserve each other, suck. The Aug 2007 X-script issue, and|or other current no go excuses, really might be that ...when attempting to contact GA with ORDERS to immediately report to the filming set ...perhaps the only response received is ...ring, ring! ...ring, ring! ...ring, ring! You can bet that if GA does X-Files 2, it’s most certainly due to the fact that there is something extreme hanging over her head. Duchovny best known as an FBI agent on the popular long running TV series the X-Files, didn’t speak a squeak, a peep or even a sneeze about X-Files 2 in his Aug 27, 2007 LA radio phone interview on that Monday morning? We’re not sure, if he was talking about his--paid vacation--Californication sitcom or real life, or if he can any longer tell the difference. It is interesting that corp Hollywood's latest made to order character Duchovny states these words; “he comes to Hollywood from NY” ...as did GA in real life. He’s drowning himself in booze, drugs and sex” says Duchovny ...but I don’t think GA did that in real life. “He’s a guy that can’t say no” Duchovny confirms ...and again GA, in real life, certainly can say no. The X-File’s 2 Duchovny says, “It’s-a kind-of-a big ruse” ...but GA has made it perfectly CLEAR as to where she stands on matters. The X-Files 2, it’s out there Duchovny also says ”It just kind-a falls in his lap” ...while GA is depicted, via the old Hollywood media as just falling, in real life. Wait a minute what are we talking about? Oh, well ...what does it matter anyway. I remember the catchy one-liner implications. I hope you will too. Duchovny confesses in his phone interview ...“I’m standing by a dumpster”. He might or might not have been, in real life. In this over the top, pointed, embellished statement, via the Hollywood nazi clown radio station 106.7 in LA, he might have been attempting to imply that ...he’s just a humble, regular ole guy ...a man of the common folk ...one with a sincere fellow and social conscience. Or, maybe his publicist just thought it might be politically correct ...who knows? Do we really care where Duchovny stands now when doing real life commercials? ...a day late and a dollar short. The public is well aware where he, and the boys stood, prior, during and after 2002 ...when their young co-worker and first time mother, was forced to work 16-17 hour days, 5 & ½ day workweeks, for nine months straight for ten years in a row ...and where they stood (rather sat) when GA stood up in 2002, and still does. Where have all the real men gone ......the brave ...the honorable? Well ...there it is. *Gillian Anderson best known for ...well, err, ...being Gillian Anderson. cool best wishes, The LA Insider thanks for having me P.S. Sorry Duchovny ...but, i doubt luck will have you in your new nazi sitcom project, “THE DEVIL WEARS DUCHOVNY”.

A Real Nazi X-File 2 - Still! "I'm tired of fighting it." [GA, 2008] As everyone knows the Nazi Bush/Hollywood clan supported the Nazi Party until 1942; Bush's financially supported Germany's Nazi war-machine; and Nazi Hollywood assisted in supporting their propaganda-machine. For those who haven't done the research, it's no longer difficult to uncover. Though today's US Nazi Bush/Hollywood regime are on the outs -via a behind the scene-saving face, upright elite minority group which is known as Rudolph- it still has some teeth. Old Nazi Hollywood was taken over September of last year and most name brand actors, as Anderson, have been laying low until things are sorted out. Anderson was about six years ahead of her time and perhaps one of the first US fighters of the resistance. In large part, here in LA, CA., especially actors, are certainly aware that old corp. Hollywood is totally a 'Nazi Landing' responsible for managing the US's iron-curtain media-monopoly; propaganda-machine that crushes the majority's voice and dumbs down the whole society. It's critically important, when referencing Anderson, to understand that the management of the Fox's X-Files (crimedogs) could definitely be considered the poster-child for the Bush/Hollywood Nazi propaganda regime. When Anderson -who hates Nazis- said no more in 2002, was like standing in the headquarters of the SS. in WWII Germany and telling them to shut their frigging gourd! Wow! In hindsight, it's obvious Anderson's hate for corp. oppressing Nazis got her into something way beyond her maturity level, though she did have enough sense to get out of the US -once she told them what they could do with their hot garbage juice. Anderson, though between the lines, has been taking her inside information and warning the public about the US 'iron curtain' media since 2002 -supporting the resistance movement here in the US. No way is sucking face with Nazis Anderson's thing. Rumor is, she's off fascism and Nazi sympathizers. She is no longer mentally burnt (worked to death for a decade via X-Files) nor is she that same naive firecracker. She is aware how hard she hit their moneybags -and cream sauces- in 2002 by resigning at high ratings, and of the fact that Nazis never forget a betrayal. They have stalked, slandered, blackballed and tormented her for six years. These are dangerous people with no soul and Anderson is not only a threat to them, she is perhaps the only actor that beat them at their own game -and lived to talk, and talk she still does. It was inevitable that these Nazi Hollywood dorks would endeavor to make a few more tainted bucks on their way out. More importantly, doing so at the expense of one of their most hated victims, Anderson, would be a scoffing feather in their cap. In their weakened state and with her lawyers we can only hope that this fighter of the resistance is calling all the shots concerning her, most probable, coerced involvement with this Nazi X-Files2 -project of revenge, relating to GA's involvement. Research shows, it seems, that she has only (hopefully for big bucks) lent her box-office appeal name to it, not her time, heart or career. We don't envy her having to face the recent perpetrators -and sympathizers- of her personal and professional life again. Maybe she will gain more strength from the experience. Endurance and courage must be Anderson's intimate friends, as are we who have followed her lead in joining the resistance. She is not forgotten for her thankless sacrifices made for individual and social correctness (for the betterment of society); via her stand against Nazis; at great, enough, cost to her first motherhood, career and personal life. The shocking caviler of the majority in today's US society stinks worse than it's abandonment (Nazi sympathizers.) However, it wasn't shocking, when Rotten Tomato (US Nazi rag) asked DD & GA what they could tell us about the movie. As usual, David laughingly turning to Anderson, made some tangy and delicious infused comment about the plot. Finger on the trigger Anderson only responded with, "I got tired of fighting it." Sweet! In dedication to Anderson and other -passive- resistance fighters; we commemorate the authors of The White Rose with the very words that prematurely cost them their lives: "Vivre libre ou mourir." Let your hair down. Join the resistance. best, brovi
