Zach And Miri Hit A Problem

Kevin Smith's new film, Zach And Miri Make A Porno, hits ratings trouble in America...

Kevin Smith’s new film, Zach And Miri Make A Porno, has become his latest film to do battle with the MPAA in the States over a rating.

Smith had last fought with the MPAA over Clerks 2, but his latest has been slapped with an NC-17 rating in the States. This means that many national cinema chains and DVD rental stores won’t even carry the film, and would severely limit the film’s commercial chances.

Inevitably, Smith is going through the appeal process, and the area of contention appears to be the sex scenes in the flick. It’s expected that Zach and Miri will eventually get the R rating it needs, but it’s unclear right now what Smith will have to do in order to get it.

The film is due for release in the States on 31st October, and features Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. Smith is expected to reveal a full trailer at Comic-Con this Friday.
